Hide / Delete the Nodes (Words) and Add them to the Stopwords List

Sometimes you might want to hide some nodes from the graph in InfraNodus.

For example, if the most influential words are too obvious and you want to see the context they appear in.

There are two ways to hide the nodes from the graph in InfraNodus:

1) Graph-specific

2) Globale settings

Graph-Specific Stopwords

We will use an example of a scientific paper. In scientific papers there’s often words like “fig” (for figure) or “doi” (reference code), which are not relevant to the main discourse. Therefore we might want to remove them from the text graph.

In order to do it:

1. Click the nodes in the graph you want to have deleted.

2. They will then be selected on the graph and shown at the top with the blue tag markers.
   

3. Then click the Trash icon at the top, next to the blue tag markers, to add the words to the stop list.
   
   

They will then be selected as red tags as on the image below.

4. If you want to remove the word from the stop list, click its red tag and it will be added back into the graph.
   

5. You might also want to add these words to the permanent stop list. In order to do it, click the Save icon next to the stopwords:
   

After you click the Save icon, InfraNodus will open the graph text settings where you can save those words as a permanent list of stopwords. You can also add them comma-separated manually, so you don't have to select them in the graph:

Global Stopwords

You can also choose to set a global list of stopwords, which would then apply to all of your graphs.

In order to do that, please, go to the User > Settings page (infranodus.com/settings), which you need to save in order to add the words you selected into the permanent stoplist.

Here you can specify a list of keywords you want to never be added into the graph (separated by a comma — e.g. "literature, review" as below). You can also verify which words in your specific language are in the default stoplist. If you want to remove it (e.g. "did" and "do" are in the EN stoplist, but you want them to be shown in the graph), then you use a minus next to the words ("-did, -do") like in the example below:

If you prefer to save the view for the current graph only, delete the nodes you wish, and then set the default version of the graph to the current version:
