You can upload your text, PDF, markdown, Gexf, and CSV files to InfraNodus as well as copy and paste plain text.
We have some limits in place mainly designed to make the graph more readable as the graphs that have too much data become less readable. The following limits are in place:
File Size Upload Limits
Every user of InfraNodus can upload as many files as they want per month. However, we limit each upload depending on your account tier. You can of course upload the files in several iterations, but keep in mind
PDF files:
We allow higher upload limits for PDF files because they contain images. If you prefer, you can reduce your PDF size using Adobe Acrobat or external services or convert it to a txt / MD text-only file to bypass the limitations below.
Cloud accounts: max file size 1 Mb, max 2 files at a time
Pro accounts: max file size 5 Mb, max 10 files at a time
Premium accounts: max file size 50 Mb, max 50 files at a time
Total upload size: 100 Mb at once
TXT files:
Cloud accounts: max file size 300 Kb, max 2 files at a time
Pro accounts: max file size 2 Mb, max 10 files at a time
Premium accounts: max file size 10 Mb, max 50 files at a time
Total upload size: 10 Mb at once
MD (Markdown) files:
Usually, you'd want to import these files to analyze your Obsidian / Roam Research vaults or technical documentation. Note, that the [[wiki links]] inside those files can be processed to show connections between the files.
Cloud accounts: max file size 300 Kb, max 20 files at a time
Pro accounts: max file size 2 Mb, max 100 files at a time
Premium accounts: max file size 10 Mb, max 500 files at a time
Total upload size: 10 Mb at once
CSV (spreadsheet) files:
We only process 1 file at a time for spreadsheets because of the advanced import features where you can specify which columns to analyze.
Cloud accounts: max file size 300 Kb, max 1 file at a time
Pro accounts: max file size 3 Mb, max 1 file at a time
Premium accounts: max file size 10 Mb, max 1 file at a time
Total upload size: 10 Mb at once
Plain Text Processing
You can also copy and paste your text to InfraNodus directly. The following limits are in place depending on your account tier:
Cloud accounts: 300 Kb at a time
Pro accounts: 1 Mb at a time
Premium accounts: 5 Mb at a time
Recommended Text Processing Size
Many users ask us if they can upload all the files they have to InfraNodus to visualize the content inside. However, in this case, the graph will be too dense as there is a tendency for words to have exponentially more relations as the length of the total text increases.
Therefore, we do not recommend uploading too much text to each specific graph at once otherwise the data you get will be too generic, and also the graph will take longer to load.
Generally, a good graph size is the size of a long-form article (e.g. 80 - 100 Kb) or a book (500 Kb) — at about 500-2000 statements 500-1000 characters each. Anything longer will make your workflow more difficult and it will become harder to get original, deeper insights. So it is recommended to split the text into thematic parts (e.g. research papers by topic) and import them into separate graphs. You can always try to combine the graphs later after you analyze each specific one first.
